Coronavirus (covid-19)

United Cabs, Inc. - Memo

Last updated: [03/20/2020]

From everyone at United Cabs, we hope that you and your families are safe and healthy in these uncertain times. We know that many of us are being negatively impacted by the Coronavirus crisis, but we also know that this too will pass, and we as a world, will come out stronger. Our sympathies are with those who are being negatively impacted by this virus.

As per the NYS mandate Governor Cuomo made on March 20th, 2020 regarding the closing of non-essential businesses, United Cabs announces that we will be 100% operational as of March 23rd, 2020.

Our facilities and office will be working at normal capacity. Your orders are being processed, manufactured, and delivered. That being said, there have been some changes in our day-to-day operations to ensure the safety of our employees, clients, and communities.

  • Non-essential in-person meetings are still suspended (including those with our vendors) and have been replaced with teleconference/video conference.

  • We are still able to receive and transfer phone calls, but all of our office staff are working remotely; therefore, our office remains physically closed.

  • Because of the global effects of this health crisis, there can be unexpected disruptions to our supply chain. These disruptions will be communicated immediately to our clients on a project to project basis.

  • Material samples are still able to be ordered and delivered. Note that delivery times may be longer than usual because of the virus.

Your best resource for more information regarding the Coronavirus is the CDC website: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/faq.html

CDC on the safety of shipped goods:

“There is still a lot that is unknown about the newly emerged COVID-19 and how it spreads. Two other coronaviruses have emerged previously to cause severe illness in people (MERS-CoV and SARS-CoV). The virus that causes COVID-19 is more genetically related to SARS-CoV than MERS-CoV, but both are betacoronaviruses with their origins in bats. While we don’t know for sure that this virus will behave the same way as SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV, we can use the information gained from both of these earlier coronaviruses to guide us. In general, because of poor survivability of these coronaviruses on surfaces, there is likely a very low risk of spread from products or packaging that are shipped over a period of days or weeks at ambient temperatures. Coronaviruses are generally thought to be spread most often by respiratory droplets. Currently, there is no evidence to support the transmission of COVID-19 associated with imported goods and there have not been any cases of COVID-19 in the United States associated with imported goods.

We thank you for your continued business and trust. Stay healthy and safe.
