Intersect by Lexus

The Meatpacking District welcomes Intersect by Lexus, a concept space and restaurant created for people to "experience the ethos of Lexus lifestyle." Designed by Masamichi Katayama, Intersect by Lexus represents "the intersection of culinary, design, hospitality, entertainment, and technology." Throughout the centuries-old, three-story building, are subtle elements of Lexus, leading to an experience that extends itself into every inch of this creative hub - including, its elevator. It features Black Mirror Stainless Steel panels with a clever parallelogram pattern. A black painted steel divider and a round powder coated handrail is found in between the upper and lower panels. The reveals, return walls, strike post, and transom are also faced with Black Mirror Stainless Steel, minus the pattern. To complete the design, and as a subtle homage to New York City, a white marble, hexagon, subway tile floor was applied. With a sleek, luxurious, modern, and edgy design, this elevator finesses the design crossover between car and lifestyle.
