216 East 47th Street, or the Octavia, is a 32-story condominium building located in Manhattan's Turtle Bay neighborhood. Constructed in 1984, the Octavia was built in the "postmodernism" architectural style and features only 48 apartment units, a low number for a building of its height. Her two elevators, having recently been modernized, are constructed of Stainless Steel, Wire by Design architectural mesh, Laminated Mirror, and Composite Floor Tiles. The interior design of the elevator is one that creates a synthesis of texture, minimalism, and sleekness.
